Beacon Hill Park has been a Victoria fixture for decades located two blocks from the Inner Harbour in downtown Victoria. Since 1882, the park is often the highlight of many who visit Victoria, BC because the gardens, walking paths and ponds. The manicured park is like a field of dreams and is a popular area for wedding photos.

The Beacon Hill Park paths and bridges connects the sprawling 200+ acre park meander around the playing fields, the ponds and fountains, the playground and the various viewing benches and picnic tables.

The south side of the Beacon Hill Park borders Dallas Road waterfront walk-way and the spanning marine views. The walkway path in Beacon Hill Park is a paved path leading you through colorful displays of wilderness gardens down atrium walkways. There are floral flower gardens at Beacon Hill Park planted and thriving among the family of west coast native trees like the shedding Maple Trees, towering Garry Oaks, twisted Arbutus Trees, strong Douglas Firs and the flamboyant Western Red Cedars.

Beacon Hill Park is ideal for Bird Watchers because it is home to many species of ducks, Peacocks and other flying fowl like Blue Herons and predators like Bald Eagles. Goodacre and Fountain Lakes in Beacon Hill Park are the main gathering places among the trees where the water fowl gather to snack on the bread crumbs fed to them by visitors.

Beacon Hill Park, in Victoria, hosts summer concerts in its outdoor bandshell. Often during a picnic on the lawns of Beacon Hill Park a horse drawn carriage will trot on by following the narrow roads. A putting green is onsite for the golfers that just can't resist being away from the golf game. A sports field for a good game of frisbee and a 1956 First Nations Native Totem Pole standing at 38.9 metres (128 feet) is in Beacon Hill Park.

Beacon Hill Park has an interactive childrens farm so there is always something for everyone to do. It is a popular place for all ages. A park where parents learn to giggle again and snap pictures of the children interacting with the animals. A supervised wildlife petting zoo is in Beacon Hill Park where man and animals learn to understand each other at an early age.

From sunset to sunrise, smiles are every where, at Beacon Hill Park. The area is well populated with roller blades, cyclists, walkers and joggers. There are artists painting landscapes. A musician under a tree plucking a tune. All of them come for the beauty and healthy environment of Beacon Hill Park.

How to get to Beacon Hill Park: Best accessed from the south end of Douglas Street or follow Dallas Road which borders the back end of the park. Cannot miss it ! Ask any local for directions as every local knows the park.
